The first semi-finals game was played on Friday, between Xellos and Boxer. While Xellos is undoubtedly the no.3 terran in the world at the moment, he was going up against Boxer, who is tied for 1st and 2nd. Though hard to call, many people were leaning towards Boxer to win.
Game 1: Xellos > Boxer on Guillotine
Game 2: Xellos > Boxer on Nostalgia
Game 3: Xellos > Boxer on Neo Bifrost
What happened? No idea. Boxer failed to show what makes him one of the best players in the world, while Xellos was living up to the name of “perfect terran”.
Now Xellos is headed to the finals, against one of two VERY deadly opponents, Junwi or Yellow. While the two zerg players are masters of ZvT, Xellos’s easy win over Boxer may make ppl think twice before assuming a Zerg is going to win this Starleague.

1: Yellow > Junwi on Guillotine
Yellow went for an interesting build, going 9 pool speed into a fast evolution chamber. Seeing that his opponent was determined to finish him off with lings, Junwi played a normal 12 pool/gas muta build, except he just dropped the sunkens everywhere. +1 melee attack finished, and it was judgement day for Junwi. The result was a narrow win for Yellow’s ling forces, which opened the way for a continuous stream of zerglings into Junwi’s base, and the GG.
2: Yellow > Junwi on Bifrost
A hectic game full of suicide drone killing, once a player threw some units to kill a drone, the other player just felt compelled to even the score. Yellow’s experience let him come out on top in this frantic game, strongly contrasting the two players as the veteran and the rookie.
3: Yellow > Junwi on Nostalgia
The last I could not see! I hear that it was a one-sided game, though.
Prior to the game, it was mentioned that Yellow was suffering from a cold and was not feeling well. Well, he can Junwi 3-0 when he’s not 100%, looks like another reason to vote for Yellow in the finals -_-.
The Olympus Ongamenet Starleague Finals card has been determined, it will be Xellos vs Yellow at Jamsil Stadium (holds 10,000 people) on Sunday, July 13th. This leaves us with the 3rd/4th place games next week, and 2 weeks of useless filler material before the finals. Good job OGN!
Hilsen Jonas
