EA TO PUBLISH NAMCO’S BREAKDOWN™ ON XBOX®

Chertsey, UK. – (4th February 2004) – Electronic Arts (Nasdaq:ERTS), the world’s leading interactive entertainment software company, today officially announced plans to publish BREAKDOWN™ from Namco Limited for the Xbox® video game system.

Breakdown is the hotly anticipated first-person action adventure title from Namco, which combines their legendary fighting game experience with the best elements of traditional shooters. Breakdown’s thrilling science fiction storyline is revealed through its high-end, real-time rendered graphics, bringing an unprecedented level of realism to the gameplay experience. The game features intense hand-to-hand and weapons-based combat, challenging puzzles, surreal dream sequences, advanced A.I and massive, detailed environments for exploration.

Derrick Cole, a US soldier who was badly wounded in combat, is brought back from the brink of death as a result of ‘cyborg’ experiments. He wakes up in the Carter Research Centre—a US research facility located in Yokohama, Japan—unable to remember his past, and comes under attack from US soldiers. Saved unexpectedly by Alex Henderson, a female soldier, they have no choice but to escape from the research centre…

Play the role of Derrick Cole as you unravel the sinister plot, battling hoards of seemingly invincible super-human warriors, learning new combos and acquiring new vehicles and weapons for the ultimate first-person experience.

Breakdown is due to be released in June 2004 across PAL countries.
