From reading the Beta forums, it sounds like ranged units (esp.
Night Elf archers) are dominating most games. In past RTS games, such as Age of Empires, such unilateral domination by one type of unit (fast moving archers, for instance) often makes a game one dimensional and somewhat boring. Even in StarCraft, hordes of hydras and dragoons took over most games where the geography allowed such tactics.

G Frazier:

While I know Blizzard tests their games expertly and the natural
complexity of WarCraft III will work against this domination by
ranged units, they might want to consider this issue heavily
during the Beta. Unfortunately, I was not lucky enough to get the Beta, so I can’t offer any more specific suggestions nor am I sure if this post is even worth the time it took to compose.

The game isn’t done yet. It’s only been up for 2 days in beta
