Vi har i år oplevet en række mere eller mindre tossede søgsmål imod spilbranchen, men dette slår vist dem alle. Cytress Hill backup-sanger Michael “Shagg” Washington har netop stævnet RockStar Games, da han mener figuren Carl “CJ” Johnson i Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, ligner ham lige lidt for meget. Washington bedyrer, at han mødte RockStar Games i 2003 og bidrog med ressearch til “livet på gaden”. Det er IGN som opsnappede historien, og ganske som vi undrer sig over, at det har taget Washington seks år at formulere “sin harme” over GTA: San Andreas. Han kræver nu $250 mio. i erstatning (den lader vi lige stå lidt)…

“The plaintiff had never seen the game. He did not own or play video games, but it seemed possible that he had been included in the game,” the complaint says. “He then recalled the meeting in or about 2003, and it began to dawn on him that his image had been stolen for the game.”

“Upon examination of images of ‘CJ’ and comparison to his photos from that year and other evidence, it became clear that Rockstar had stolen his image and never paid him.”

Washington is demanding 25 percent of the game’s total profits – $250 million – for fraud, misappropriation of likeness and infringement.
