Nu skulle det være sikkert. Infogrames har udsendt en pressemeddelelse, der bekræfter at efterfølgeren til Geoff Crammond’s Grand Prix 3, med det originale navn Grand Prix 4 (GP4), vil blive udgivet til Pc’en og XBox’en i juni måned i år. Spillet vil indeholde en helt ny grafikmotor og Crammond selv udtaler, at man (med GP4) ikke kan komme tættere på følelsen af at sidde i en Formel 1 bil – uden faktisk at være der.
Det er i sandhed en god dag for alle Formel 1 fans og i særdeleshed for fans af Geoff Crammond’s fantastiske spil. Det er bred enighed om af mandens nu tre Formel 1 spil (GP1, GP2 og GP3) alle tre hver især har sat standarden for hvad bilspil skulle kunne på det tidspunkt de er blevet udgivet.
Store forventninger til 4’eren – og XBox’en
Der hvor Gp3 haltede en smule var uden tvivl på det grafiske. Spillets fysik var noget nær perfekt og den skulle være yderligere forbedret i den fjerne version. Da spillet vil blive lanceret på både Pc og XBox’en samtidigt sætter det bestemt nogle krav til det grafiske, hvis det skal have en chance i konkurrencen med de mangle flotte titler på vej. Crammond selv er vanlig stil yderst selvsikker i sin vurdering af Grand Prix 4 og baseret på mandens hidtidige resultater er det måske ikke så underligt:
